Some more ‘cold’ images…..

Two more images that I really like but just didnt seem to fit in on the new website.

The tents in the panoramic was our production camp when we shot in Arctic Finland, and the ship is an the American ‘ice breaker ‘ the Laurence M Gould which sailed past us in the Lemaire Channel, Antarctica. She was on her way back to Argentina as we headed south, deeper in to the Antarctic continent. With its bright red paint it created a great contrast against the mountains and Antarctic fog, something totally industrial and man made in a part of the world barely touched by man.

3 landscape images successful in travel photo competition, Clic Açores

I just received an emailing saying that three of my travel images have been selected as ’Highly commended’ in the Clic Açores photo competition. Shortlisted from over 1200 entries, the competition was to show case the finest travel & destination photography shot in the Azores archipelago. The images will appear in various exhibitions around Europe to promote tourism to the Azores as well as published in a hard back book.

10 days shooting in Malaysia

I just spent the last ten days shooting the beautiful west coast of the Malaysian Peninsula, although a few nights in Kuala Lumpur is a must when you visit Malaysia. I will be posting the images here once they are back from the retouchers, in the meantime here are few pictures shot on the Fuji x100 and IPhones.

12 days in the Egyptian desert!

I have just returned from a 12 day shoot in southern Egypt’s Western desert, very hot during the day and then freezing at night.

The sand is so fine and the wind is so strong that a camera and lens exposed to the elements longer than a few seconds are practically ruined. I will be taking all my kit to FIXATION next week for a complete strip down, clean and service.

Well worth it though, another great experience that I would never have had if I wasn’t a working photographer!

Shooting at Lands End Airport!

I have just spent a windy couple of days shooting the crew and airport staff of Skybus Airways, this is the airline that serves the Scilly Isles. Lands End airport is right on the tip of England and perched high on a cliff, a tricky place to land for any pilot.

Antarctica..

Have just been looking through my iphone and found this little video clip, this was my first glimpse of the Antarctic continent, filmed at dawn on our first morning in Antarctica after 4 days at sea from Argentina.

Nobody else was awake and I was totally alone on the bridge of our ship, everything was still and silent, ice floated by gently brushing against the ship, and the low temperatures froze your breath. A really special moment.
